Mumbai International Airport to Host Routes Asia 2013

As formally announced at last year’s World Routes in Berlin, Germany, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in Mumbai will host next year’s Routes Asia, the eleventh edition of the principal network development event for the region. The event is expected to bring a number of visitors to Mumbai from the airline, airport and tourism industry to discuss and explore the opportunities for airline route development. The event hosting will also coincide with the opening of the New Integrated Terminal T2 at Mumbai, later in the same year.

“We are delighted to host the next Routes Asia in Mumbai,” Mr Rajeev Jain, Chief Executive Officer, Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Limited, told The HUB during this year's event in Chengdu, China. “Routes is an ideal networking platform for global airline partners for exploring unique business opportunities. CSIA, over the years has emerged as one of the busiest airports in South Asia while recording a stupendous growth in passenger traffic and facilities. We are thus very excited and are gearing ourselves in hosting and welcoming the Routes delegates in Mumbai, the gateway and financial & commercial hub of India. We look forward to showcasing the development of our New Integrated Terminal T2 to all delegates during this event. ”

Traditionally Routes Asia as an event has been attended by leading airports and airlines. Being chosen as a host is an opportunity to showcase the economic, industrial, and tourism potential of the host city and its airport. Additionally, Routes Asia also offers an opportunity within a short period of time to conduct a number of one-to-one meetings between airports and airlines from Asia. Over its existence, Routes has acquired a well deserved reputation and has proved its claim of being the main aviation event in Asia helping make connections between airlines and airports.

“We are delighted to bring Routes Asia to India once again as the Indian market is a key strategic focus for the Routes business, “ explained David Stroud, Executive Vice President Airports, Routes at last year's formal announcement. “We have worked with the GVK team for many years on their presence at our events. It is fantastic that we are now able to bring our 11th Routes Asia event to Mumbai in 2013.”
