Andrew McConnell has been appointed easyJet’s corporate affairs manager. He is responsible for engaging with government and other political organisations, as well as co-managing the airline’s media relations and CSR activities in the UK. McConnell has previously been communications manager at easyJet for three years on an interim basis. Prior to that, he held a communications role at Airport Express, the operator of the Heathrow Express and Gatwick Express train links.

Aspirion, the Australian-based aviation consultancy, has appointed James Vaile as chief operating officer. He also becomes a shareholder in the company. Vaile has a strong background in aviation and technology, having previously worked at Singapore Airlines and Microsoft and more recently running his own consultancy from Australia.

London City Airport’s chief financial officer, Adrian Colman, is leaving to join Psion, the IT hardware company, in April. His replacement is being sought.

Christer Haglund, Finnair’s senior vice president public affairs and corporate communications, is leaving the airline in April. He has been in the role and a member of the executive board since 2000. His replacement has yet to be announced.

Jet2.com’s Ashley Cowen has been appointed new operations director across the airline’s eight bases. He will be responsible for ground operations, operations control and crewing. He was previously area general manager for Asia, Pacific and Africa. He has also held operations roles at BA, CitiExpress and Heathrow Airport.
