Meet the Crew of the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital

The ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital is staffed by crew and volunteer medics. The smooth running of both the aviation operations and the medical ones is down to ORBIS staff.

Some of the team will be on-hand in Abu Dhabi when the converted DC-10 aircraft will be displayed at Al Bateen Executive Airport during this year’s World Routes Event to give tours of the ORBIS plane and to answer questions, so find out more about them here.

You can register for one of the delegate tours on offer at World Routes here. These exclusive tours will allow you to see the operating room, lecture theatre and audio visual suite up close whilst also meeting the team that travels the world to bring training and treatment to developing countries.

This visit to Abu Dhabi marks the current Flying Eye Hospital’s last to the Middle East, as the third ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital, an MD-10, will take to the skies in 2013. As our official charity partner, Routes is working with ORBIS to raise funds for the next generation Flying Eye Hospital.
