Making the Most of World Routes in Las Vegas

World Routes is the world’s largest commercial aviation event and those who have attended the event in the past know just how busy the event is. Here The HUB has provided a checklist of how to make the most of your time in Las Vegas!

Friday 4th October

Arrive in Las Vegas on Friday ahead of the event to give yourself time to check out the famous Las Vegas Strip, take in a show or visit one of the many tourist attractions in and around Las Vegas

Saturday 5th October

On Saturday collect your delegate badge from the event venue or join one of the complimentary or discounted tours available to all World Routes delegates before grabbing your shorts and flip-flops and heading to the Mandalay Bay Beach Club for the event Welcome Reception. Here you’ll also be able to collect your badge for the event and begin networking with the global route development community in a more informal atmosphere all generously sponsored by the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino.

Sunday 6th October

On Sunday head to the South Halls of the Las Vegas Convention Centre bright and early ready to hear from some of the industry’s most senior thought leaders who will address the key issues affecting aviation during the multi stream conference programme which begins today!

Sunday will also provide an opportunity to explore the extensive Networking Village and experience the many different cultures by taking advantage of the hospitality provided by various stand holders. As well as the Face-to-Face meetings which will be taking place at the stands there are many activities taking place to get involved in whilst making contact with those key targets. Don’t forget to make further meeting requests by visiting the Diary Advice Desk and using the Extra Meetings System, sponsored by Copenhagen Airport.

The programme of Routes Talks and Route Exchange Airline Briefings also begins on Sunday and this extra event content is not to be missed! The Routes Talks Seminar Theatres, located in the Networking Village and open to all delegates, are a unique space for briefings, presentations and discussions including insight from industry peers. The Route Exchange Airline Briefings, given by senior network planners, are an opportunity for attending airports to gain an overview of the carriers, allowing them to view, first-hand, what information the airline requires from the airports when making route proposals. At World Routes in Las Vegas 30 routes Exchange Briefings will take place with confirmations received, so far from, JetBlue, Fastjet, Kenya Airways and many more.

Monday 7th October

At 07:30 the event will open on Monday morning and Face-to-Face meetings will begin in the Meeting Halls, sponsored by Edmonton International Airport. Further conference content including the World Routes Strategy Summit, World Tourism Summit, Routes Talks and Route Exchange Briefings continues today and in the midst of all this enjoy the networking lunch sponsored by Brand USA, why not find a seat on the stand of one of your key targets to continue making those all important contacts?

Time for a quick change and head over to the spectacular Garden of the Gods at Caesars Palace, generously sponsored by Caesars Entertainment for a glamorous evening of entertainment ‘Vegas style’, The World Routes Awards and of course more informal networking.

Tuesday 8th October

On Tuesday the event opens 08:00 providing delegates with a welcome 30 minute lie in following the previous night’s festivities. There’s no let up in the busy World Routes schedule though with the continuation of the World Tourism Summit, Routes Talks and Face-to-Face meetings taking place. In addition Invest and Manage kicks off on Tuesday morning with some of the key global investors presenting the key deals which have been concluded over the last 2 years along with a series of briefings focusing on the best practice investment and operational strategies for financing airport development.

Networking lunch today, the final day of the event, will be sponsored by co-hosts of World Routes 2014, the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) and Choose Chicago. Following the end of the final meeting today CDA and Choose Chicago will also host a farewell reception in the Networking Village, this is a chance to finish off those important meetings in a relaxed atmosphere and say goodbye to contacts old and new until the next Routes event.
