Mahan Air to Phuket

Mahan Air will begin non-stop service from its hub in Tehran to the Island of Phuket in Thailand. This will be the first scheduled non-stop flight from the Middle East region to the island. Mahan Air will fly the route with its 243-seat Airbus A300-600 aircraft in two-class configuration. The inaugural departure, flight 5049, will depart Tehran airport at 2130 on Monday 6th December 2010 and arrives in Phuket airport at 08:00 local time the next day, a flight lasting approximately 7 hours. The first departure from Phuket, flight 5048, will depart at 2240 on Tuesday December 7th and arrives in Tehran IKA airport at 03:10 the next day, a flight lasting approximately 7 hours and 50 minutes. Phuket will be Mahan air’s second destination in Thailand after Bangkok which is being operated by the airline with 9 weekly frequencies.

The weekly flights operate on every Tuesday and will increase to twice weekly as soon as the required government permissions are obtained.

Phuket will be the 16th international destination served by the airline. Established in 1991, Mahan Air has a fleet of more than 30 airbus and Boeing passenger aircraft and it is serving Europe, CIS, Far East and the Middle East. More than 1.7 million passengers were carried by Mahan air during the first six months of 2010, an increase of 44% over 2009 figures.
