The Latest News Ahead of World Routes in Abu Dhabi

Over 450 airline planners representing 250 airlines are now registered for the 18thWorld Route Development Forum with many of these registrations coming from Airline CEO’s and other high level delegates.

Airlines who have confirmed their attendance in the last few days include Air New Zealand, Aeroflot, Garuda Indonesia, Ethiopian Airlines, Spicejet, Shenzhen Airlines, Germanwings, Air India, Shaheen Air and, most recently, Qantas Airways. New Polish charter company Bingo Airways have also recently confirmed that they will attend their first Routes event.

This year will also see oneworld, Star and Skyteam Alliances well represented in Abu Dhabi along with a strong presence from both the US and Chinese markets whilst the European low cost carriers will also be out in force. This week has also seen the addition of several more Route Exchange Airline Briefings bringing the total of briefings currently confirmed for World Routes in Abu Dhabi to 26. Both Bingo Airways and Emirates have confirmed that they will deliver a Route Exchange Briefing during the event along with LOT Polish Airlines who, ahead of the arrival of its B787, has revealed a number of new route opportunities from its Warsaw hub.

Other Route Exchange Airline Briefings confirmed this week include Finnair Cargo, Air Baltic, whose new planning team will reveal which markets are on the radar and Air Seychelles when CEO Cramer Ball will present the carrier’s expansion plans and how its cooperation with Etihad is leading to new opportunities.
