LANPeru to Offer Daily Link between Quito and Medellin

LANPeru has revealed plans to increase frequencies between Quito and Medellin having seen its share of the market decline in the past year. The airline carried around 9,000 O&D passengers on the route in the past year, down 20,000 the previous 12 month period. The route is an extension of its existing Lima – Quito service which is operated twice daily. It is currently flown four times per week but will be operated daily from January 1, 2012, according to the carrier’s latest timetable display.

The route is now dominated by TACA, which carried 67 per cent of the 38,000 O&D on the route last year. It already offers a daily service using an Airbus A320.
