LAN and TAM to merge
Brazilian national airline TAM and LAN Airlines which operates primarily from Chile (Santiago) but has a widespread Latin American network have decided that they will merge and create the largest airline in Latin America. The move will counter the merger earlier this year of Avianca and TACA.
