Jetblue to begin DCA flights

Low cost operator, JetBlue will begin its first services out of Washington National Airport (DCA) from November 1st.

It will commence flights with a daily service to Boston, and a once weekly to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.

The carrier will compete on the Boston segment with United, Delta and US Airways. On Orlando, AirTran and US Airways, whilst competing with fellow low cost operator Spirit Airlines on Fort Lauderdale.

US Airways is the largest carrier at DCA, operating 1,218 weekly flights, nearly 50% of all scheduled traffic.
