Inaugural World Tourism Summit to take place at World Routes

Taking place within the World Routes Conference Programme from 6-8 October in Las Vegas the inaugural World Tourism Summit will be a high level conference which will address a number of current industry issues. The Conference Programme is a multi-stream programme of events which brings together leaders from across the industry to participate in discussions that will set the commercial and political agenda for the aviation industry.

The Tourism Summit, which is held in partnership with the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) and TTG, will be a combination of keynote Speeches and panel discussions covering a range of topics including: how governments can align their tourism, economic development and aviation strategies; securing investment funds for tourism development; the changing dynamics of visitor economies and the links between aviation and cruising.

Many high level speakers have already confirmed their participation including Christopher Thompson, President & CEO of Brand USA; Christine Duffy, CEO & President of the Cruise Lines International Association; Roger Dow, President & CEO of the US Travel Association and Lee McCabe, Head of Travel from Facebook who, along with delivering a keynote speech, will run a workshop for tourism authorities and CVBs on how to make the most of and enhance their presence on Facebook.

In addition to the presentations and panel discussions sessions, further content will be provided by several destination briefings which will be given by Ministers of Tourism and other high level tourism authority delegates. Confirmed destination briefings, so far, include Tourism Australia, Texas Tourism, Japan Tourism Agency, Ministry of Tourism Haiti and Future World Routes Host (for 2015) KwaZulu-Natal State.

In addition to the World Tourism Summit, the World Routes Conference Programme also includes the World Routes Strategy Summit, Invest & Manage Airports, Routes Talks and Route Exchange Airline Briefings and registering as a conference delegate will also allow access to the 19thWorld Route Development Forum.
