German LCC creates new routes

Lufthansa low cost affiliate Germanwings has announced that it plans to serve two new routes for its Winter 09 programme.

It will serve from Dortmund a 3x weekly offering Salzburg effective 03 Nov 09, and a 1x weekly Cologne Fuerteventura from the 07 Nov.

Both routes will be operated with A319 equipment. Dortmund is not currently connected to Salzburg, however it will go head to head with Air Berlin and Tuifly.com on its route to Fuertaventura which is a popular winter getaway for the German market.
