Gallery: The First Phase Of Atlanta’s Concourse T Expansion

The ATL project is part of a broader expansion and renovation plan, ATLNext, which will increase capacity, renew and replace existing facilities and enhance the airport’s aesthetic appeal. 
 

In addition to building the gates, the joint venture also rebuilt a major portion of the North Terminal exit road, constructed a Delta Air Lines ground support equipment facility and a fire station, as well as oversaw relocations to the utilities’ infrastructure.
 

Scott Cannon, EVP and GM of Skanska’s building operations in Georgia and South Carolina said, “The Concourse T-North extension and renovation effort meets the expanding needs of passengers by elevating the level of customer service offered by the airport.” 
 

The project included four new gates at the north end of Concourse T and rebuilding a large portion of the terminal exit road.
 

The Skanksa-led joint venture that included New South Construction, FS360 and Synergy Construction worked on the $124.5 million project, which also involved constructing a Delta Air Lines ground support equipment facility and fire station.
 

The gates were delivered ahead of schedule for use by United Airlines.
