Flydubai to Karachi

From June 21st, low cost operator Flydubai will launch a daily service from DBX to Karachi. Pakistan, its first route into Pakistan. The carrier will operate the route with B737-800 equipment, Parent company Emirates operates 28 weekly flights, and Flydubai will face competition from the following carriers;

• Malaysia Airlines (Extension) 2x weekly A330 equipment
• Shaheen Air International 7x weekly B737 equipment
• PIA - 14x weekly A310 equipment
• GMG Airlines (extension) 2x weekly M80 equipment

Flydubai will be entering a trunk route with IATA BSP data showing that between Feb 09-10 over 619,000 O+D pax flew the route with Emirates having a 57% share. Flydubai will aim to stimulate new passengers and capture share from the other operators and not cannabolise the Emirates traffic.
