Flydubai, Dubai's first low cost airline, will expand its network in Africa

Flydubai, Dubai's first low cost airline, will expand its network in Africa with the launch of thrice weekly flights Djibouti from September 1, 2009. The new service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, departing Dubai at 08:00 hrs and arriving in Djibouti at 10:15 hrs local time. The return flight will leave 45 minutes later and arrive back in Dubai at 15:15 hrs local time.

As there are very few direct flights from Djibouti to Dubai, the airline anticipates strong travel demand for Djibouti for the Flydubai service from both the business and leisure markets.

There is an obvious commercial links between Dubai and Djibouti because DP World operates the Port of Djibouti
