Flybe announced 16 new routes

In a busy day of new route announcements from the UK (easyJet announced 36 new routes earlier today), Flybe has stated it will add an additional 16 new routes in 2010, with a focus on French destinations.

Highlights of the new route announcements includes a new service from London Gatwick to Limoges in France and Verona in Italy.

“In an environment in which other airlines are withdrawing services, we’re delighted to be offering close to 4,000 summer flights a week that include the operation of another 16 brand new routes,” said Mike Rutter, Flybe’s chief commercial officer.

Some of Flybe’s new routes include:

• Birmingham to Avignon, Bordeaux, Limoges and Rennes
• Guernsey to Edinburgh and Belfast
• Jersey to Prestwick and Durham Tees Valley
• London Gatwick to Limoges
• Manchester to Avignon, Bergerac and Limoges
• Southampton to Verona
