At last year’s World Routes event in Vancouver, Canada, Karagandy International Airport in Central Kazakhstan offered delegates a prize with a difference… the chance to visit the city of Baikonur and witness a manned space launch. The representatives of Jade Cargo International, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Turkish Airlines and ULS Airlines Cargo were guests of the airport at the Baikonur Spacedome in December, where they received an exclusive tour behind the scenes of the facility, learnt about the workings of rockets and viewed the launch of the Soyuz TMA 20 as it made its journey to the International Space Station.
