Etihad launches first Japan service

Etihad has (today) begun its first service to Japan.

Nagoya is now linked with Abu Dhabi (via Beijing) - one of four weekly scheduled flights, which will increase to five from 29th March.

James Hogan, Etihad's CEO, said: "We believe the connection between Abu Dhabi and Nagoya will offer opportunities to grow tourism, as well as foster commercial growth and benefit key industries - particularly energy, environmental services and manufacturing, for which Nagoya is becoming a centre of excellence."

Etihad will also offer codeshare services with ANA from 1st March and Nagoya to Chitose and Fukuoka and through Tokyo's Narita airport to Osaka. ANA passengers will benefit from connections to Etihad's global network via its Abu Dhabi hub.

From 27th March, Etihad will expand further from Abu Dhabi to Tokyo.
