Emirates Orders 30 777-300ERs at Airshow

At Farnborough Air Show today (July 19), Emirates placed an order with Boeing for a further 30 777-300ERs, worth approximately US$9.1 billion (AED 33.4 billion).

The carrier had also previously ordered 71 777-300ERs and 53 of these are currently in service.

"Emirates is the world's largest operator of 777s and this latest order affirms Emirates' strategy to become a world leading carrier and to further establish Dubai as a central gateway to worldwide air travel," said H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum.

Emirates has 86 777s in service - three -200s, six -200ERs, 10 -200LRs, 12 -300s, 53 -300ERs and two freighters.
