EgyptAir to Replace British Airways on London - Sharm el Sheikh

BRITISH AIRWAYS is to suspend its three-times weekly London Gatwick - Sharm el Shiekh service from 03MAY11 due to low traffic numbers on the route. The airline says the Boeing 777-200ER currently used on the link is too large but no smaller aircraft are currently free within its fleet to substitute the widebodied jet. EgyptAir is understood to be finalising its own direct services from the Red Sea city to London Heathrow. It is planning to operate a twice weekly connection from 01JUN11 using a 737-800.

Schedule:

MS779 SSH1700 – 2115LHR 738 13
MS780 LHR2230 – 0615+1SSH 738 13
