Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine to Speak at Strategy Summit

Taking place on Monday 22ndJuly 2013 and open to all attending delegates, The Routes CIS Strategy Summit will begin the second day of Routes CIS in Donetsk. The Strategy Summit will provide a valuable insight into aviation across the region as panels of leading industry experts take part in a number of moderator led discussions addressing key air service development issues effecting commercial aviation across the entire CIS region.

Attendees of the Summit will hear a welcome address from Mr Kirill Osypov, Director General of International Airport Donetsk, Host of this year’s event followed by keynote presentations from Mr Mr Boris Kolesnikov, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Mr Konstantin Efimenko, Minister of Transport and Communications of Ukraine. Three moderator led sessions covering various aviation related subjects affecting the region will then take place.

Session one, entitled Turbulence in the CIS Airline Industry will discuss that whilst some carriers are thriving others have fallen and ask questions such as: is further consolidation inevitable, why are the CIS carriers suffering, can all the CIS countries maintain a national airline and why have the Russian LCC carriers been slow to take off? Panellists taking part in this session include Yolanta Strikitsa, Managing Director of Strikitsa Consulting, Bakhytbek Kakimov, Senior Manager, Route Analysis and Traffic Forecasting for UTair Airlines, Yevgen Treskunov, EVP Strategy & Development for Ukraine International Airlines and Anatoliy Kolesnik, Head of Civil Aviation of Ukraine

During the second session; Airport Infrastructure, Bypassing the Hub, moderator Yuliya Crane, Consultant for ASM will ask how does the CIS develop its airport infrastructure to keep pace with passenger demand, can these airports fund the infrastructure requirements and be profitable, what is the role of regional airports in the CIS Market, will traffic continue to be pushed through the Moscow hubs and how important is liberalisation to the development of the regional airports? The panel for this session will include Gregory Pomerantsev, Commercial Director of JSC Airport Tolmachevo, Novosibirsk International Airport, Petr Lipovenko, Vice-President of the Ukraine Association of Airports and Vladimir Kamynin, Marketing Director of Moscow Domodedovo Airport.

The third session; Attracting the outbound CIS market will take a look at whether the CIS Outbound market will continue to grow at the existing rate of growth and ask how large can the CIS market become, what role will the scheduled/ LCC and Charter carriers play in meeting demand and where are CIS passengers travelling to next? Confirmed panellists for this final session of the day include Valerie Luyk, Director of Discover the World Marketing and Vadim Besperstov of S7 Airlines.
