Delta Eyes Beach Destinations From Japan

Delta plans to start a non-stop service from Japan to Honolulu and the Pacific island of Palau, subject to approval from the US Department of Transport.

If Delta is given the go-ahead, there will be daily services from Tokyo Narita to Palau and from Nagoya to Honolulu, starting December 22 with 216-seat 767-300ERs. The aircraft has capacity for 35 BusinessElite seats and 181 seats in economy.

Jeffrey Bernier, Delta's managing director, pacific sales & affairs said: "Delta has been a leader in providing service from Japan to attractive beach resorts, including Guam, Saipan and Hawaii for many years."

"Our new service to Honolulu and our proposed flight to Palau underscores our commitment to providing more travel options to our customers in Japan."
