Delta expands further at LAX

SkyTeam member Delta Air Lines has announced plans for three new routes to commence from April 1st this year. It will commence a new four-times daily service from Los Angeles to Sacramento to be operated with Skywest CRJ200 equipment. Delta will compete on the route with United Airlines which operates a four-times daily service, whilst low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines serves the route over fifty times weekly. IATA BSP data shows that over 473,000 O+D passengers have flown the route between October 2009 and 2010 with Southwest having a 90% market share.
