Continental announces three new routes.
Star Alliance member to-be, Continental Airlines has announced that it will add three new routes from one of its key hubs at Houston Airport (IAH).
The carrier will add a three times daily service to Washington Dulles (IAD), the carrier already serves DCA with several daily frequencies, however the new service will allow passengers to travel through Houston and into Dulles where passengers are then able to connect onto international schedules, as DCA is purely a domestic airport. There is currently no scheduled service between these two airports.
Continental has also announced a new service to Frankfurt, Germany on a daily rotation. Lufthansa also operates a daily service between FRA and IAH. With Continental joining Star Alliance this will allow the carriers to feed its other passengers onto their flights. LH currently operates a B747-400 on the route.
Lastly, CO has announced daily service to Edmonton, Canada, currently there is no scheduled link between these city pairs.
