Chinese fleet to triple by 2027

China will become the world’s fastest growing aviation market with orders for 3,710 aircraft worth about $390 billion expected over the next 20 years, Boeing has predicted.

In its 2008 Current Market Outlook, the manufacturer said China’s rapid air travel and cargo boom will see China’s fleet more than triple to 4,560 aircraft by 2027 ¬– the equivalent of today’s entire European fleet.

"China will continue to be the fastest-growing aviation center in the world, requiring 41% of the entire Asia-Pacific region airplane demand. This makes China the largest market outside of the US for new commercial airplanes," said Randy Tinseth, Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice president of Marketing.
