Caribbean completes takeover

Trinidad's Caribbean Airlines has completed its takeover of cash strapped Air Jamaica. As part of the deal the Jamican government will now own a 16% stake in Caribbean Airlines, which will also see Caribbean Airlines keep approximately 900 Air Jamaica staff, in order to operate 8 of the Kingston based carrier's routes.

All Air Jamaica tickets are to be honoured.
