Brisbane number cruncher - the key stats shaping the host of Routes Asia 2018

As the countdown to Routes Asia 2018 continues, Routesonline looks at the growth of the Brisbane aviation market, examining the top destinations served, total capacity and biggest airlines.

Brisbane is the state capital and gateway to Queensland, home to major international attractions such as the Great Barrier Reef, Gold Coast, the Whitsunday Islands and the kangaroos that play on Cape Hillsborough beach.

Brisbane Airport (BNE) capacity will double when a new second runway opens in 2020 at a cost of AUS$1.35bn, and the international terminal will be redeveloped to the tune of AUS$45m.
