Brazilian flag to add Colombian capital

TAM Airlines, a member of Star Alliance has filed for slot access to serve Bogota, Colombia. The Brazilian carrier is hoping to begin services in December and will operate the route from Sao Paulo.

TAM will compete on the route with fellow Brazilian carrier GOL which serves the route on a 6x weekly basis and Avianca, the national airline of Colombia, on a 7x weekly basis.

IATA BSP data (Airport IS) shows that currently Avianca has a 60% share of the O+D market with GOL a 27% share.
