Blue Islands to take over Guernsey carrier

Jersey- based airline, Blue Islands has agreed in principle to take over Aurigny Air, its local competitor.

Owned by the state of Guernsey, Aurigny Air currently operates 379 weekly flights to 10 destinations with ATR and Britten Norman Equipment.

It is the larger carrier of the two airlines with Blue Islands operating to 262 weekly flights to seven destinations with ATR and Jetstream 32 equipment.

The takeover of Aurigny will give Blue Islanda access to nine new destinations: Bristol, Dinard, East Midlands, Geneva, Isle of Man, London Gatwick, Manchester, London Stansted and Zurich.
