Bangkok Airways launches new routes

Bangkok / Recently - Bangkok Airways announced the launch of its new Phuket-Samui-Trat route, 2 December, to connect Thailand's eastern seaboard islands to Phuket on the Andaman Sea coast.

Four weekly services will operate Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday using a 70-seat ATR72.

The flight will depart from Phuket at 1255 and arrive in Samui at 1350 then continue at 1420 to Trat, the last major town on the eastern seaboard, arriving at 1540.

"We believe connecting Thailand's popular seaside destinations through Samui will benefit tourists and stimulate tourism flow across the country," said PG's Vice President, Corporate Communications, ML Nandhika Varavarn.

"The service cuts travellling time for visitors who want to visit various beach destinations without passing through Bangkok."

The airline uses Samui as its hub for the new service, which will allow tourists to visit Phuket, Samui and Chang Island without having to transit through Bangkok.

Bangkok Airways offers similar connecting services to other seaside destinations such as Samui and Phuket, three daily services; Samui and Krabi, five weekly; Phuket and U-Tapao (Rayong and Pattaya), four weekly and Phuket-Samui-U-tapao, daily.
