Asiana boosts US capacity
Star Alliance member, Asiana has announced that it will increase existing capacity into the US from May 2011. Effective May 24th, it will operate the Seoul Incheon to San Francisco route on a daily basis with B777 equipment. It competes with Korean Air which operates the sector four-times weekly, United Airlines which operates the service daily and Singapore Airlines which also provides a daily flight. Over 321,000 O+D passengers flew the route between October 2009 and October 2010.
On the same date, Asiana will also boost its scheduled services to Seattle from five-times weekly to a daily, operated with A330 aircraft.
