AirTran Airways Announces New Nonstop Service Between Milwaukee and New Orleans

The new nonstop to New Orleans begins October 7, 2010. AirTran operates a Boeing 717 with 117 seats and a Boeing 737 that seats 137 in mixed class configurations.

The AirTran Airways announcement will increase their daily non-stop destinations from New Orleans to three. The other cities served directly are Atlanta and Baltimore/Washington. Milwaukee serves as a mini-hub for AirTran which opens on-going service to the Midwest on their carriers.

"We are very pleased with AirTran's increasing presence in our market. Their announcement of new non-stop service to Milwaukee marks their second new destination added in a twelve month period. Milwaukee is a key city to add to the roster of destinations served from Armstrong because it provides more connecting opportunities, and therefore more choices for travelers to and from the New Orleans region," stated Dan Packer, Chairman, New Orleans Aviation Board.

It will be the only non-stop service between the city pairs.
