AirAsia X looks at new international markets

After having received approval to operate new services to Seoul Incheon Airport, the low cost operator is now seeking to serve Sydney, Jeddah and Tokyo.

On Sydney it will face competition from Malaysia Airlines which operates a 12x weekly frequency. IATA BSP data shows that over 112,000 O+D pax have flown the route in the 12 months between Jan 09-10.

On Jeddah AirAsia X will face competition from Malaysia Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines.

Between Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo Narita, Malaysia Airlines operates 9x weekly flights and Japan Airlines a 7x weekly service.
