Air North Marks Boeing 737 Debut in Arctic Canada Communities
Canadian Carrier Air North on 05SEP12 launched First-ever Boeing 737 service to Dawson City, Old Crow and Inuvik (Yukon Territory, except Inuvik in Northwest Territories). Boeing 737-200 COMBI operated Whitehorse – Dawson City – Old Crow – Inuvik routing.

The carrier’s operation within Yukon and to/from Northwest Territories, as well as summer seasonal service to Alaska is operated by HS748 turboprop, while its Boeing 737 aircraft operates service to BC, Alberta and Charter service to the US. In the airline press release, the 737-200COMBI is equipped with gravel kit, allowing service to airports with unpaved runway including Dawson City and Old Crow. The airline will operate Boeing 737-200COMBI to these airports when demands are high.
