Air France adds new African markets

Air France has announced an expansion of its scheduled services into Africa for summer 2011. The SkyTeam carrier will add services to Tripoli, Libya on a five-times weekly basis, Monrovia, Liberia which will be operated thrice-weekly and Freetown, Sierra Leone, twice weekly.

According to September Flightbase data, Air France currently opearates over 269 weekly flights to Africa from Charles De Gaulle, Orly, Marseilles, Lyon and Nice.

With large traffic flows between France and Africa, over 13 million O+D pax annually according to IATA BSP data (Airport IS) and strong historical and cultural links, Air France will also add winter services to Bato in Guinea.
