Air Arabia has begun twice-daily nonstop flights between Sharjah International Airport in the United Arab Emirates and London Gatwick Airport.
The Sharjah-based LCC inaugurated the new route on July 4, with a second daily flight set to begin on July 10. The service operates using Airbus A321neo LR aircraft.
Adel Al Ali, group chief executive officer of Air Arabia, called the London connection a “significant addition” to the airline’s network.
“This new connection further strengthens connectivity between both nations supporting growing demand for air travel while fostering tourism, business and cultural exchange,” Al Ali said.
Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah International Airport Authority, described the route as a “vital bridge” between two major commercial and cultural centers. From Sharjah Airport, Dubai is an approximate 30 min. drive.
“This new route creates a direct air bridge with one of the world’s most prominent capitals, expanding travel options for passengers and reinforcing Sharjah Airport’s status as a regional hub for air connectivity,” Al Midfa said.
The Gatwick route is part of a broader expansion for Air Arabia, which now serves more than 76 destinations across approximately 34 countries. The airline begins services to Aleppo, Syria, on July 7.
Air Arabia operates from hubs in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, with a fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
