Aeromar Outlines Regional Jet Plans

Mexican regional carrier Transportes Aeromar has outlined its initial operating plans for its two recently acquired Bombardier CRJ200 regional jets. Currently an all-turboprop operator with a fleet of ATR 42 models, the airline has taken delivery of two former Jazz Air CRJs on lease. It will use these aircraft on its longest sector domestic service, a six-times weekly flight from Mexico City to Saltillo, as well as to Tepic and Zacatecas, which operate up to 13 times every week. Subject to the successful introduction of the 50-seat aircraft, Aeromar could seek to add further examples later this year, potentially growing its fleet to five or six units by the end of the year.
