Aerodom announces the start of the first phase of its remodeling program at AILA

Las Américas International Airport -JFPG.- Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) announced that the first phase of its remodeling program is beginning this week at Las Américas International Airport -JFPG in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with the aim of giving the current terminal´s exterior and interior a new look.

With this remodeling, expected to be performed in various stages, Aerodom will offer its users a more modern and friendlier look by symbolizing the sense of place with the use of native Dominican elements in its atmosphere like the Cigua and Royal Palm.

In the first phase of the project, work will start with the passenger check-in counters of the north and south terminal by introducing special metal and lighting aesthetic elements. Also, the external glass will be replaced, the illumination and signalization will be improved and new finishing materials will be used.

The second phase of the project, which involves a façade facelift at Las Americas International Airport- JFPG, is scheduled to begin within the next 20 days.

The project will conclude with the revamp of the centralized immigration areas, the commercial corridor and the south terminal satellite. The work also includes the overhaul of the existing floors, wall and soffit coverings, improving lighting and incorporating an enhanced signalization and re-ordering commercial spaces and passenger services.

During this period, passengers may notice difference in the arrangement of the AILA, however this will not have an effect on the usual operations.

Aerodom would like to thank the airlines and representatives of the commercial spaces for their support in order to achieve the necessary changes during the remodeling work at our airport.
