Adria Adds Priština - Verona and Expands S12 Offering

Slovenian national carrier Adria Airways is to launch a new route between Priština and the Italian city of Verona as part of its revised 2012 schedule. The airline confirms that it will offer more than 170 scheduled flights per week from its main base at Ljubljana this summer serving 18 destinations.

Its network will cover Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belgrade, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London, Istanbul, Manchester, Moscow, Munich, Podgorica, Priština, Sarajevo, Skopje, Tirana, Vienna and Zurich. This list includes the resumption of some routes, most notably to London, with the reintroduction of a five times weekly link to London Gatwick from March 28, 2012.

The new Priština – Verona service is due to commence on January 28, 2012 and is currently planned to operate on a twice weekly basis until March 24, 2012. It marks an expansion in Priština, the capital and largest city of Kosovo, which it currently serves from Ljubljana as well as with links to the German cities of Frankfurt and Munich, major hubs of Star Alliance partner Lufthansa. The Priština – Verona route was until recently operated by meridiana fly and it is understood that a travel organisation that was contracted to acquire seats on each flight approached Adria to maintain the link for the remainder of the Northern Winter schedule.

Alongside its scheduled network, Adria is also involved in flying a significant charter network connecting Ljubljana with numerous leisure destinations for travel agents. The airline will fly weekly to the Greek destinations of Heraklion, Rhodes, Kos, Santorini, Karpathos, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Skiathos, Samos, Chios, Lesbos, Lefkada/Preveza and Kavala as well as offering flights to Antalya, Malta, Menorca and Palma and its year-round charter links to Hurghada and Sharm-el-Sheikh in Egypt.
