Fastjet has strengthened its regional and international network through two new strategic partnerships with Madrid-based Euroairlines and United Arab Emirates national carrier Etihad Airways.

The Zimbabwe-based airline has signed a commercial agreement with Euroairlines that will see Fastjet-operated flights distributed through Euroairlines’ international sales network. The deal enables Fastjet services to be marketed under the airline’s FN code and issued on Euroairlines’ IATA Q4 ticketing plate, giving access to major global distribution systems used by travel agents worldwide.

“This collaboration expands our value proposition for agencies and travelers, incorporating new destinations and facilitating more efficient connections in Africa, where we complement its network with those of our other African clients,” said Euroairlines CEO Antonio López-Lázaro.

The agreement is expected to boost visibility for destinations in South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe, making it easier for international travelers to combine regional journeys.

Separately, Fastjet Zimbabwe has signed a memorandum of understanding with Etihad Airways to establish an interline partnership, with plans to later add a codeshare agreement and frequent flyer cooperation. The agreement, signed in Harare, Zimbabwe, on July 7, will enable Etihad passengers to connect to Fastjet Zimbabwe services to Bulawayo and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, as well as Johannesburg on a single ticket. Ticket sales begin Aug. 24.

The tie-up supports Etihad’s planned direct Abu Dhabi-Harare flights, due to launch March 24, 2027, extending the Gulf carrier’s reach across Zimbabwe via Fastjet’s domestic and regional routes.

Etihad Airways chief revenue and commercial officer Arik De said the partnership aligns with the airline’s African growth strategy.

“Africa is an important part of Etihad’s growth, and partnerships like this one with Fastjet Zimbabwe are how we extend our reach and open up more of the continent for our guests,” he said.

Fastjet Zimbabwe business CEO and country head Donahue Cortes said the agreement “marks the beginning of what we believe will be a significant partnership.”

The Fastjet Group is also preparing to relaunch the Fastjet Mozambique brand under a franchise agreement with Solenta Aviation Mozambique, which confirmed in February that it plans to resume scheduled services from Beira International Airport under the Fastjet brand, using an initial fleet of three 50-seat Embraer ERJ145s. Fastjet Mozambique previously operated between 2017 and 2019.
