LCC Air Arabia plans to launch daily nonstop service connecting Sharjah International Airport in the United Arab Emirates with Rome Fiumicino Airport, effective in July.
The route will be operated using an Airbus A320neo. Air Arabia group CEO Adel Al Ali said Feb. 26 that the airline is “happy to further expand its European footprint with the launch of daily flights to Rome.
The announcement follows the airline’s plans to strengthen its route network this year. In 2025, it added 30 new routes, including London Gatwick, Prague, Warsaw in Poland, and Krabi, Thailand.
The carrier also reported a 10% increase in operational capacity and a 16% rise in total passengers, reaching 21.8 million across the group. Its average load factor improved by four percentage points to 85%.
The Sharjah-based carrier has hubs in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, all in the United Arab Emirates, together with Alexandria, Egypt, and Casablanca, Morocco. As of Dec. 31, 2025, Air Arabia had a fleet of 90 A320ceo/neo family aircraft.
