Air Austral to look at establishing LCC

Air Austral has started looking at the establishment of a new low-cost subsidiary.

Ch-aviation has reported that the president of the Regional Council of La Réunion, Didier Robert, said that the carrier would serve the Indian Ocean region, potentially using St. Pierre de la Réunion as its hub.
Robert has said that before any plans can begin, there are technical and administrative issues to be addressed.
Last January, former Air Austral executives Gérard Ethève and Gabriel Pinelli were reportedly planning to set up a longhaul LCC, although these plans have never been developed.
