Air France turns 80
Air France is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a year of dedications. The airline was inaugurated at Le Bourget Airport on Oct. 7, 1933 and was formed by the merger of Air Orient, Air Union, Société Générale de Transports Aériens, the CIDNA and Aéropostale.
Celebrations for the upcoming 12 months include the 80th anniversary logo painted on an Airbus A380 and an A320, and monthly articles in the Air France magazine on its cultural history as well as short stories by famous authors. Anniversary products will be offered to Air France customers on inflight items.
Shown are some of the Air France fleet from the 1980s, including Boeing 737-200, 727-200, 747-100, an Aérospatiale-British Aerospace Concorde, Airbus A300B4 and ATR 42.
Congratulations Air France!
