The Week Ahead In Aerospace & Defense

This week Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley are in Ramstein, Germany, to host the 15th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is due to meet with President Joe Biden and key lawmakers later in the week in Washington. On Thursday morning Senate defense authorizers will consider the nominations of Derek H. Chollet to be under secretary of defense for policy and Cara L. Abercrombie to be assistant secretary of defense for acquisition. Meanwhile, on Tuesday a Rocket Lab Electron is due to launch Capella Space’s Acadia synthetic aperture radar satellite from the Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand. And SpaceX has two Falcon 9 Starlink launches slated for launch this week from Cape Canaveral, on Tuesday and Saturday evening.
