The Week Ahead
This week sees the 2026 NATO summit take place in Ankara on Tuesday and Wednesday (see today's Debrief), marking the 36th summit for the alliance and the second hosted by Turkey following the 2004 Istanbul summit. Meanwhile, Tuesday will see SpaceX’s Transporter-17 rideshare launch aboard a Falcon 9 lifting off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, while Thursday and Friday should see Starlink launches from Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg. This week also will see the International Astronomical Union’s Origins 2026 symposium on the origins of life on Earth and beyond, at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle and Sorbonne University in Paris.
