In Brief: Thales Eyes Buying RTX Out Of NATO Command And Control JV

Thales says it is in advanced talks with RTX to buy the U.S. company’s stake in the Thales-Raytheon Systems joint venture (JV). The deal is expected to close before year’s end, assuming regulatory approvals are received, Thales said July 16 as it disclosed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU). The company did not disclose the cost of the potential transaction. France-based Thales-Raytheon Systems has long worked to provide the Air Command and Control System to NATO, which has replaced various command-and-control systems that were in place across alliance members to improve interoperability.
