- Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions. Accountable to present an objective view of the airline’s financial situation and provide sound recommendations for the allocation of resources in the most efficient way to achieve the business goals and objectives. Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.

- Monitor and analyze monthly financial and operating results against budget and long term plan.

- Provide monthly financial report (including forecast) and weekly MIS report with decision support recommendations to keep airline on track of financial performance.

- Support all business case evaluation with insightful financial analysis. Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating

procedures.

- Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives. Serve on planning and policy-making committees.

- Serve as primary legislative liaison relative to company financial issues. Oversee financial management of foreign operations to include developing financial and budget policies and procedures.

- Direct internal control procedures and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.

- Deliver 5 stars (Accurate; Timely; Complete; Relevant and Cost effective) financial services to the business. Lead a team of Business Support Managers/Officers to support all departments in the airline to deliver financial objectives.

- Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.

- Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed. Oversee and supervise employees.

- Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

- Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise. Train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management.

- Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting the airline or its subsidiaries, including support of the airline's Special Assistance Program."

Responsible for financial control of the airline including financial planning (annual budget and 5 year plan), internal control, financial evaluation of all business cases including new routes. Leading a team of Business Finance Managers/Officers to provide financial support to the business to ensure airline financial performance in line with plan is achieved.

Bachelor's degree and a Professional qualified accountant (CA/CPA)

Experience

Executive Management - minimum 10 years of job-related experience required

Previous experience as a Financial Controller role in an airline

- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.

- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.

- Professional written and verbal English communication skills.

- Ability to communicate complex financial analysis to business leaders to implement.

- Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.

- Strong mentoring and coaching skills.

- Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills.

- Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
