GCAA say lack of flight data impedes Al Ain crash investigation

The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has said the lack of a flight data recorder has impeded efforts to determine the cause of the Grumman G-21 aircraft crash at Al Ain Airport last month.

Reports made by the GCAA say this may prolong the time of investigation which is to move focus to lab examinations performed on certain pieces of the wreckage.

The plane, which crashed on the taxiway shortly after takeoff on February 28, had "no signs of in-flight breakup or in-flight fire," the report said.
