Duties / Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities include:
• Coordinates and provides high-level technical support to maintenance control and pilots to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
• Performs the duties of maintenance control, in the absence of dedicated Maintenance Controllers.
• Coordinates the timely service, repair and return to service of non-scheduled aircraft maintenance discrepancies.
• Represents the company in any accident/incident or significant maintenance activity.
• Reviews individual aircraft and fleet performance and analyzes aircraft, system and component reliability levels.
• Coordinates with the aircraft, engine and component manufacturers to improve and resolve identified reliability problems.
• Monitors coordinate and control warranty claims.
• Monitors individual aircraft, engine and component status and ensures the timely scheduling of all routine maintenance.
• Builds reviews and approves scheduled-maintenance work packages.
• Solicits bids from approved vendors for best ground time and price for major scheduled-maintenance packages.
• Monitors and controls approved maintenance vendors' performance on quality, ground time, and price.
• Coordinates reviews and recommends changes in aircraft technical specifications based on service experience and input from cockpit and cabin crews.
• Reviews technical content of existing and proposed maintenance contracts and makes appropriate recommendations to the best interest of the company.
• Reviews current and future-required spares levels based on service experience and projected fleet size and activity levels.
• Performs Flight Engineer/Field Support Mechanic duties when required.
• Maintains a high level of fleet-specific technical skill and knowledge through recurrent training, manufacturers' communications and industry news.
Job purpose
The employee is responsible for one of the aircraft types operated by the client. For the assigned fleet, the MFM has overall responsibility for dispatch reliability, aircraft availability, scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance activities, technical support, fleet specific technical contracts and warranty administration and spares provisioning.
