Boeing is introducing new subscription-based services to help airlines save fuel and increase environmental efficiency. InFlight Optimization Services are designed to be implemented within current air traffic and airline operating procedures using existing communication channels. No regulatory changes and little to no new equipment are needed. The services, Direct Routes and Wind Updates, provide up-to-the-minute information to airlines and their flight crews, enabling adjustments en route to account for weather and air traffic control status.

Etihad Airways confirmed today that it has renewed its contract with Lufthansa Systems, to handle the airline's worldwide exchange of data with its SkyConnect network management system. SkyConnect has been used by the airline since 2007.

Boeing Business Jets today announced that the Rockwell Collins Enhanced Vision System (EVS) has been certified by the FAA on a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ), an Air National Guard C-40. The Rockwell Collins EVS is available to current and future BBJ operators as a post-production modification.
