Bombardier to bring its interactive CSeries aircraft dome to Bahrain International Airshow 2012

Bombardier has announced it will be showcasing a selection of its business aircraft at the 2012 Bahrain International Airshow, highlighting the strong market growth potential of the Middle East and Africa.

On static display will be three aircraft from Bombardier’s business jet portfolio: the widebody Challenger 605 and Challenger 850 jets, as well as the ultra long-range Global Express XRS aircraft. Visitors to Bombardier’s interactive state-of-the-art dome will have a unique opportunity to view the full-scale passenger cabin and cockpit demonstrators of the CSeries aircraft.

Bombardier’s decision to bring its aircraft to the show, is no doubt attributed to its latest market forecast for the aviation industry, which predicts a total delivery of 1,175 business jet deliveries destined for the Middle East over the next 20 years. With a solid fleet of business jets in the region, Bombardier’s Learjet, Challenger and Global jets are all represented.

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft also has a strong presence in the Middle East and Africa, with more than 200 CRJ regional jets and Dash-8/Q-Series aircraft in service or on firm order in the region. Bombardier forecasts that over the next 20 years, while starting from a small base, the Middle East and Africa will take almost 1,000 deliveries of aircraft in the 20- to 149-seat market segment.

Bombardier has already shown commitment to the region. In November 2011, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced the establishment of a regional sales and marketing office in Dubai to serve the Middle East and Africa regions. The office is located in the Dubai Free Zone near Dubai International Airport.

And to support its customers in the Middle East, Bombardier opened its full-scale business aircraft Regional and Support Office (RSO) in Dubai in 2010. In 2011, the office saw the addition of a customer liaison pilot to its permanent staff that also includes a customer support account manager, two field service representatives and the RSO manager.

The RSO in Dubai is complemented by the company’s regional parts depot, which is operated in conjunction with ExecuJet Aviation, part of Bombardier’s authorised service facility (ASF) network in the Middle East. In 2011, Bombardier also added two more authorised facilities in the region, in Turkey and Jordan, to support business aircraft.

Visitors are welcome to attend the Bahrain International Airshow 2012 from Thursday, January 19 to Saturday, January 21. The Bombardier chalet is located at the Sakir Airbase at A28-29, and the Bombardier CSeries aircraft dome is situated in the static display area.
